Usablility - user friendly webdesign

Tobias Krais (www.design-to-use.de) report: "My diploma thesis had the theme 'Internet Innovation through Usability'. The project was a usability study on a website of a big assurance company in Basle, Switzerland.
The study revealed something amazing: many of our test users were not able to solve the given tasks for the website. We as experts were blind for the needs of our users! We had to learn to think like our customers do.
We were able to change this with some simple changes on our website. Now even unexperienced users are able to find their solutions on the website."

Usability is very important! Your website made by www.design-to-use.de is always tested by different users before its going online.

Usability includes accessability. This means that disabled persons, e.g. blind ones can navigate through your website. We care for this!

The success of usability can be measured among other things, how many sites a user clicks during his session and how long the user stays on the site. "One of our customes wanted us to optimize its homepage for search engines and to optimze it for usability. Before we started, users stayed on average 5 minutes on the website of our customer. During this time, they visited 4 sites on average. When optimization was finished, the users stayed for 16 minutes and now visit 6 to 7 sites on average!"
